Adding a new account in Outlook Express

  1. Start Outlook Express.

    • If this is your first time starting Outlook Express, the "Internet Connection Wizard" will automatically start, so skip to Step 3 of this tutorial
  2. Choose "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu.

  3. Select the "Mail" tab, then click "Add" and choose "Mail..."

  4. Fill in the "Display name" then click "Next >" e-mail settings name
  5. Enter your "E-mail address" then click "Next >" e-mail settings address
  6. Enter "mail.atlashosting.com" as the "Incoming mail server" and "smtp.atlashosting.com" as the "Outgoing mail server" then click "Next >" e-mail settings servers
  7. Refer to the confirmation email you received from Atlas Hosting to fill the "Account name" with your "POP3 Username", enter your "Password" and check "Remember password", then click "Next >"

  8. Click "Finish"

  9. If the "Internet Accounts" window is open, continue to Step 10, otherwise choose "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu, then continue to Step 10
  10. Select the "Mail" tab, select your new account, then click "Properties"

  11. Select the "Servers" tab, check "My server requires authentication", then click "Settings..."

  12. Choose "Use same settings as my incoming mail server", then click "OK"

  13. Select the "Advanced" tab, then change "Outgoing mail (SMTP):" to 587, then click "OK", then click "Close". Outlook Express is now ready to use with your new email account.
